What I've Been Up To

Sunday, December 4, 2016

This past week was pretty crazy. First off, it was dead week (the week before finals) so I had lots of studying that I needed to do but had a hard time doing so because I had my first cookie order! Decorating cookies is something that I love to do, and it would be a dream to do it as a living. Doesn't that just sound like the best job ever. "What do you do?" "Oh I decorate cookies" lol. I don't know about you, but that sounds like the best job ever to me. And maybe too good to be true... but we'll see. :)

The order was 80, cute but simple, snowflakes. The design was new to me, but I loved making them! I love learning new designs and I think I'll be using this design again in the future. I was worried about how much space I would be taking over in the apartment, but my four roommates were really understanding about it. Who doesn't love waking up to the smell of sweet cookies? 😆

The cookies were due Friday in the afternoon. I started them on Tuesday, worked all day Wednesday, and finished them on Thursday. Just in time to deliver them the next day. The drive was about three hours away so I would of delivered them Thursday, but my mom didn't like the idea of me driving three hours in the dark, which is understandable since it gets dark so early now a days.

The cookies were a hit! Everybody loved them. I got many compliments in person and online. I do have another order due soon and I can't wait to show you what designs I'll be doing. Stay tuned!

Just a little reminder for myself and maybe for you: "Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people." (Colossians 3:23) 💛

Christmas Apartment Decor

Thursday, December 1, 2016

I decided to do an apartment decor post because of the many sweet compliments I was getting. :) Thank you for those by the way!

When I decorate my "home away from home" place (i.e. apartment or dorm room), I like to decorate with things that aren't specifically for Christmas. If I'm going to be spending money for decorations, I want to be able to use them for more than just the month of December. And I won't even be at my apartment for most of it because I'll be going home for winter break. That's why I decorate the place more for just winter in general. Snowman, snowflakes, trees with a little snow frost (not ornaments), etc. I want it to be worth the money I spend, so I would like to be able to use them for at least two months. Now at home, where I'll actually be spending Christmas, I go ALL out.

Anyways, now onto the pictures! First I'll show you a picture of what it looked like originally just so you can see what I added or changed.
