When I decorate my "home away from home" place (i.e. apartment or dorm room), I like to decorate with things that aren't specifically for Christmas. If I'm going to be spending money for decorations, I want to be able to use them for more than just the month of December. And I won't even be at my apartment for most of it because I'll be going home for winter break. That's why I decorate the place more for just winter in general. Snowman, snowflakes, trees with a little snow frost (not ornaments), etc. I want it to be worth the money I spend, so I would like to be able to use them for at least two months. Now at home, where I'll actually be spending Christmas, I go ALL out.
Anyways, now onto the pictures! First I'll show you a picture of what it looked like originally just so you can see what I added or changed.
The pillow is my favorite part for sure. Definitely paid more than I wanted to, but totally worth it. Absolutely adorable! Is it not? Pier 1 has a wide collection of adorable Christmas pillows; should definitely check them out. (Link to mine is here)
The gingerbread men garland was actually a gift from my friend/coworker, which she got from the bakery where we work at: The Gingerbread Factory. They bought the garland, but didn't end up liking it, and before they could even think about what to do with it, my friend snatched it for me! Sadly, I have no idea where they got it. :/
The little basket on the shelf, my mom insisted on buying for me last year, so I let her cause why not? lol But I actually used it as a pencil holder. This year, I bought these little acorns on a metal wire that I got at hobby lobby which are probably originally used to make wreaths and it turned out super cute!
The snow globe is probably the one thing that is Christmasy, but I think I'll be leaving it there, even after Christmas. And that was also a gift from a friend.
Pine cone was from Hobby Lobby and the tree is from Target.
Well thats all I got folks! If you have any questions, comment below! Thanks again for all the sweet compliments! ❤️
